Westchester County Annual Storm Water Report and public meeting

 

 

A public information meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 to present for public review and comment, the Westchester County Annual Stormwater Report in accordance with the New York State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System General Permit (GP-02-02) for discharges from a municipal separate storm sewer system (MS4).

Below is a current list of all county streams that require an approved county stream permit for any alterations, repairs or maintenance to existing or new structures within 100 feet of the stream channel line.

Westchester County requires stream and stormwater connection permits.  Read the information below and follow the requirements outlined to obtain each specific permit.

Stream Permits
The county requires a stream permit prior to all work, whether it be a repair, an alternation or simple maintenance, on, above or within 100 feet of any county stream channel line.

This permit is required of any firm, person, corporation or improvement district or municipality whose intentions are to construct, repair, maintain or later any structure, drainage, water pip, conduit or other serviceable item.

Applicants are required to submit three original permit forms and three sets of plans indicating purposed impact to the stream channel. Only completed, notarized forms with original signatures will be accepted. Download the permit form.

Stormwater Connection Permits
The county requires a stormwater connecion permit for all connections (existing and new) and/or non-natural stormwater discharges into/on any county infastructure.

This permit is required of any firm, person, corporation or improvement district or municipality whose intentions are to convey stormwater or other approved discharges into the countys stormwater sewer system.

Applicants are required to submit three original permit forms and three sets of plans indicating purposed impact to the stream channel. Only completed, notarized forms with original signatures will be accepted.
