Know your rights about prevailing wages

If you work on a Westchester County Public Works contract, you should know your rights about the prevailing wage laws in New York state and Westchester County.

New York prevailing wage law

If you work for a contractor on a Westchester County-owned construction site or for a contractor that provides services for a building owned by Westchester County, you are entitled to receive prevailing wages. Your employer must post a list of prevailing wages at each work site, which you are encouraged to review. If a list is not posted at your site, you should contact Westchester County at (914) 995-2941.

Is your pay correct?

If you suspect that you may not be receiving the correct page for the work you are performing on a Westchester County proejct, please call (914) 995-2941. All calls are confidential.

If you suspect that you may not be receiving the correct pay for the work you are performing on a public project that is a non-Westchester County project, call New York State Department of Labor at (914) 997-9507.
